It's a stunner murder mystery, with great character building and a good look at Russian life, foreign ambassadors living it and multinationals claiming it. Couldn't put it down!

The author keeps the reader hooked as she takes you into the heart of corrupt, crypto-capitalist modern Russia. Evocative and chilling; this might be fiction, but it feels all too real.

I really enjoyed this book. The author seemed to be very well-informed about the Russian mindset and culture. I hope she has another book in the works!

This book really gives the reader the feeling of being trapped in the chaotic and shady ongoings of modern day Moscow, countered by its subdued beauty and rich history. It makes one really want to experience this complex and confounding place (or in my case, re-experience it), although, definitely not in the shoes of the protagonist. Tough to stop reading.

A great read and an excellent first novel. Having been to Moscow, I particularly enjoyed the descriptions of the people and places. Definitely recommended.
